   End your day at Wat Phra Si Sanphet, the holiest temple of the former Royal Palace in Ayutthaya, Thailand’s ancient capital. The city was tragically destroyed in 1767 during the Burmese–Siamese War. At around 3:00 PM, relax on the journey back to Bangkok in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle.
