Velika Planina Shepherd's Hike

When we think of a life full of laughter and free of stress, we think of people who are most connected to nature. Slovenia’s shepherds definitely fit into that category, and their centuries-old traditions are now available to you. Experience the traditional Slovenian mountain way of life!

Our hike will start with a gondola lift from Kamniška Bistrica. From there, the paths will take us up grassy hills, where we will get to see an authentic shepherd's village while taking in the breathtaking views of the Alps. Some of the highlights on the Velika Planina Shepard's Hike: ♥ Forests and open pastures with cows and sheep ♥ Famous authentic shepherd's houses ♥ View of Ljubljana ♥ The chapel of Snow Mary ♥ Meet “old-school” shepherds and their cheese making tradition The tour is easy and flexible, suitable for beginners, families, and children.
