The workshop will be hosted at a small art gallery in Ginza, Tokyo. It is owned and operated by Akutsu-sensei, who will also be your instructor. He also has experience teaching at an art school, and at his art class. Tokyo Art Place Gallery opened in 2025 to share art with everyone. He believes that art is for the people, not just for industry professionals. The workshop begins with a brief introduction into the history and concept of Nihonga. You will also get a crash course on Japanese mineral pigments (Iwa enogu), Painting tools (brush and scroll), and painting techniques.
