The Paddy and Lake Trail

If you’ve got a bit more puff, why not try the extended version of the classic Paddy Trail? This one’s over twice the length. But still a leisurely ride that’s doable for anyone with a moderate level of fitness. The high point is cycling through peaceful mangroves along the northern edge of beautiful Koggola Lake. From these gravel tracks, you’ll see one of Sri Lanka’s biggest natural lakes and its seven islands. Perhaps you’ll even spot a crocodile (at a very safe distance) … On this tour, your refreshing king coconut pause is at a traditional roadside ‘kade’ stall.
