The Best of Sao Miguel: Sete Cidades and Lagoa do Fogo

Begin the tour by heading to the west side of the island, to the region of Sete Cidades and its impressive volcanic crater. Stop at the Vista do Rei viewpoint to admire panoramic views over the famous twin lakes, one blue and one green, before descending into the crater for some free time to explore the area at your own pace. Continue towards the central part of the island, following scenic roads up to Pico da Barrosa, one of the highest points on São Miguel.
