St. Thomas Beach Metal Detecting Adventure

New for Fall 2026. Hunt the beach with a metal detector for lost rings, jewelry and coins, and keep what you find. Your 3-hour guided hunt starts with a quick training and a seeded bonus hunt, then you search with a waterproof detector and pinpointer. Real beach finds are not guaranteed. A mid-hunt break includes fresh local snapper ceviche with chips and bottled water. Two people can share one detector as a team. You can detect on dry sand or in the water, up to chest deep. It's your choice. No experience needed. A quick 2-minute lesson gets you hunting. Kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Start with a 15-minute training and seeded bonus hunt: a quick, friendly orientation with a few pre-seeded practice targets and a guaranteed bonus prize, like a bottle of local Cruzan rum for adults or a genuine prehistoric shark tooth necklace for kids. Then set off on the main treasure hunt across the beach with a waterproof metal detector and pinpointer to track down lost rings, bracelets, watches and jewelry (real beach finds are not guaranteed, and you keep what you find). Take a ceviche half-time break with fresh local snapper ceviche, chips and bottled water, then return to the shoreline for the final stretch of the search.
