The heritage of Spice Route Destination is inspired by the historic mariners who traded Eastern spices to Europe along the legendary Spice Route during the 15th century. Explore the 10,000-hectare conservancy between the Langeberg and Outeniqua Mountains, home to most of South Africa's iconic Big Five: elephant, lion, buffalo and rhino.* As the sun sets over the Karoo, wildlife becomes more active, creating excellent opportunities to spot animals and capture incredible photographs.
