Sendai Gyutan Local Food Tour with Licensed Guide

Savour the flavors of Sendai on this private, fully customizable food tour led by your government-licensed local guide. The capital of Miyagi is famous for gyutan (charcoal-grilled beef tongue), and your guide will lead you to the best spots to try this regional specialty. Begin at the lively Sendai Asaichi morning market, where stalls overflow with fresh seafood, seasonal produce and ready-to-eat treats. Climb to the hilltop ruins of Aoba Castle for sweeping city views and tales of the samurai lord Date Masamune, then explore the covered Clis Road arcade in the buzzing downtown, lined with restaurants and izakaya. Because this is a private tour for your group only, the pace and the stops are entirely up to you. Tell your guide your tastes and dietary needs and they will tailor the day around them. Whether you crave thick-cut gyutan, fresh sashimi or sweet zunda made from edamame, you will eat like a local and leave with a deeper feel for Sendai's food culture and history.
