Santorini Ancient Thira Walk Hiking Experience

This enchanting route seamlessly connects Pyrgos with Ancient Thera, offering a journey to some of the most historic sites on the island. Divided into two distinct sections, this excursion promises an unforgettable adventure.

1. 1

   Pyrgos

   1 hour

   The initial leg begins at Pyrgos. Ascending uphill, this segment leads to the Monastery of Prophet Ilias .The ascent is invigorating yet brief, rewarding walkers with stunning views upon reaching the monastery.

2. 2

   Profitis Ilias

   1.5 hours

   The second part of the journey unfolds from Prophet Ilias to Ancient Thira. We take photos with Panoramic View.Throughout this portion, travelers are treated to uninterrupted panoramas, punctuated by captivating scenery at every turn. This stretch boasts a smoother terrain, gradually descending from an altitude of 550 meters to 270 meters.

3. 3

   Ancient Thera

   1.5 hours

   En route to Ancient Thira, there are many opportunities to stop and soak in the natural beauty of the island. If you're lucky and the Ancient City is open, you can walk around (admission 6 euros per person) before heading down to Kamari. Your car will be waiting for you there to take you back to your hotel.
