As the summer/spring crowds clear out, the Tuolumne and Merced Groves become secluded, peaceful hiking trails accentuated by the towering Sequoia trees reaching out of view. The Giant Sequoias grow up to nearly 300 feet high/26 feet in diameter, making the the largest living things on Earth, and can live to be over 3,000 years old. If there is a considerable amount of snow on the ground, this trip becomes a peaceful snowshoe through the snow blanketed groves.
