   Menton is a city on the Côte d'Azur, founded in the 12th century and which belonged to the Principality of Monaco for 5 centuries. It was acquired by Charles Grimaldi in 1346 until 1848. It has no less than 85 protected monuments "Historical Monument", 127 religious buildings, 7 Exceptional Gardens, 12 fortified military works, 1 label City of Art and History and 1 site registered on the UNESCO World Heritage list. It has approximately 30,981 inhabitants. City of Art and History, Old Menton contains a special atmosphere, with its narrow cobbled streets and its squares with baroque charm. A multitude of shops and restaurants enliven the ochre facades of this old town with Italian accents. Along the alleys, head towards the Basilica of Saint-Michel Archange, one of the most impressive sacred buildings on the Côte d'Azur. A little higher up, an exceptional view awaits you from the Vieux-Château cemetery at the top of the old town.
