Porto Sunset River Cruise: Douro Magic at Dusk

Set sail from Marina da Afurada on a shared small-group cruise along the Douro, with views of Ribeira, Cais de Gaia, Dom Luís I Bridge, the Arrábida Bridge and the Foz do Douro. Choose the Day Time Sail Experience (1 hour 30 minutes) or the Sunset River Cruise (2 hours). Departure times for the Sunset option change by season with the local sunset time. Both options are shared, with a maximum of 12 passengers; the sailboat is not exclusive to your group. Enjoy the included welcome cocktail and live commentary from a local guide as you discover Porto’s riverside, maritime and wine heritage. Blankets are available on cooler evenings.

   Set Sail – From Afurada to Porto's Riverside Cruise gently upriver while enjoying panoramic views of Porto and Gaia's riverfront. Along the way, you’ll pass the picturesque Farol de São Miguel-O-Anjo, one of Europe’s oldest lighthouses, and get a unique perspective of the Arrábida Bridge, an engineering marvel connecting both riverbanks.

   Alfandega Porto Congress Centre

   As we approach the heart of the city, marvel at Ribeira do Porto, known for its colorful facades, historic charm, and vibrant riverside life. Glide past the Alfândega do Porto (the old customs house), now a prominent congress and exhibition center, rich in architectural detail.

   Porto District

   On the opposite bank, admire the legendary Port wine cellars and listen as our guide shares the story of Porto’s world-famous wine culture. Sail under the iconic Dom Luís I Bridge, an iron masterpiece designed by a student of Gustave Eiffel, offering a breathtaking view of both cities from below.

   Promenade Foz do Douro

   Continue westward toward Foz do Douro, where the river meets the sea. Here, the landscape opens up to reveal the vast Atlantic Ocean. As the sun begins to set, enjoy a signature cocktail on deck and soak in the golden-hour beauty of the coast.

   Douro Marina

   10 min

   As evening falls and city lights shimmer on the water, we gently sail back to Marina da Afurada. Before parting ways, our crew will share insider recommendations on where to eat, drink, and explore in both Porto and Gaia. A perfect end to an unforgettable sailing experience.
