Penang Heritage Tour: Iconic City Landmarks & Fort Cornwallis

Explore the Penang city which is  rich in history as it is in culture, tradition and diversity. Visit the many historical buildings and temples such as Wat Chayamangkalaram Temple, Dhammikarama Burmese Temple. After that, take a scenic drive through the streets of George Town - UNESCO World Heritage Site and witness the remnant left by the British and local dwellers of the past and also make a visit to Fort Cornwallis.

   Historic City of George Town

   Your tour begins with pickup from your hotel or cruise terminal at Georgetown on time for a 9am departure. Meet and greets our friendly driver at the lobby and proceeds for your tour.

   Chaiya Mangalaram Thai Buddhist Temple

   Firstly you will visit Wat Chayamangkalaram Temple where the 4th longest Reclining Buddha Statue is found

   Dhammikarama Burmese Temple

   30 min

   Right across the road you may also visit the Dhammikarama Burmese Temple which holds a Buddha statue standing at 8.2 meters, making it the tallest in Malaysia. The existence of these two temples is due to the early settlement of the Thai and Burmese community in the early 1800s.

   Historic City of George Town

   After that, take a scenic drive through the streets of George Town - UNESCO World Heritage Site and witness the ramnant left by the British and local dwellers of the past

   Coffee Tree

   On the way, we will stop for some free sampling of Penang’s famous White Coffee/ Tea at Coffee Tree

   Fort Cornwallis

   45 min

   Then make a visit to Fort Cornwallis which is the largest standing fort in Malaysia. Fort Cornwallis is a star shaped fort that was named after the then Governor-General of Bengal, Marquis Charles Cornwallis. Approximately 10 feet high, Fort Cornwallis, Penang or Fort Cornwallis Pulau Pinang is located close to the Esplanade, next to the Victoria Memorial Clock. End of the tour return to your hotel or cruise terminal in an air-conditioned vehicle.
