Montserrat Hiking Experience & Monastery – Small Group (Max 8)

Montserrat Natural Park is located 50 kms away from Barcelona. We get there enjoying the amazing and UNIque views from our fully equipped private transportation. The first place we will visit in Montserrat’s Natural Park is its Benedictine Monastery, first built on the 11th century and home to Catalonia’s Patroness Saint, The Black Madonna of Montserrat which is a strong symbol of spirituality and unity for the local people. Once we have visited the Monastery area, we hike up to the top, from where we will enjoy the breath-taking views of the Natural Park and most of the territory. During the hike we walk on the same paths used by pilgrims hundreds of years ago, we will get inspired by Montserrat’s fascinating flora and fauna and we will also hike on UNIque ways where rocky pillars and ravines show us how inner mysterious water emerge from the hidden and undiscovered very center of the massif. Back down in the Monastery, we have some free time before we head back to Barcelona.

Our journey begins in the heart of Barcelona, where we'll pass by iconic landmarks such as Paseo de Gracia, Diagonal Avenue, the Royal Palace, the prestigious University of Barcelona, and the legendary Sportive City of FC Barcelona

   Enter the majestic Natural Park of Montserrat and ascend the mountain, soaking in the breathtaking views along the way. Montserrat stands as the heart of Catalan tradition, revered for its profound history, religious significance, and rich cultural heritage. At the Montserrat Monastery, begin your cultural journey by exploring the storied past and visiting the Basilica of Santa Maria de Montserrat. Learn about the monks' daily life and marvel at the stunning scenery from the monastery grounds.

   Embark on a hike along ancient pilgrimage paths on Montserrat, where you'll experience the diverse flora and fauna of the region. Traverse rocky pillars and ravines, soaking in the mountain air as you navigate both uphill and downhill sections. Learn about the varied surroundings, including geological formations and the unique wildlife that thrives in this remarkable landscape. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views that showcase the natural beauty of Montserrat.

   After your hike on Montserrat, you'll have some free time to explore the monastery area. Visit the local market to taste regional specialties, including the famous Montserrat cheeses and other local treats. Enjoy the bustling market atmosphere, perhaps stop by a café for a relaxing break, and explore the souvenir shops. When you're ready, meet back with your guide to journey back to Barcelona by van.

   Once we've concluded our visit at the monastery, it's time to relax and make our way back to Barcelona. Enjoy the comfort of our air-conditioned vehicle where you can rest and even take a siesta on the journey back.
