Then we visit the Church of the Teatini dedicated to Saint Irene, to admire its scenic exterior architecture and richly decorated interiors. The next stop is the Roman Amphitheatre, a significant testimony of the Imperial era in the city, once used for public performances and gladiatorial games, and the column dedicated to Saint Oronzo, patron saint of Lecce, which symbolically marks the endpoint of the ancient Via Appia.
