The area features seven beautifully maintained gardens—six dry landscape gardens and one circular stroll garden. These grounds are a masterpiece of Edo-period defensive urban planning, featuring narrow streets with distinct "crank" corners and imposing stone walls originally built to impede enemy advancement.
