You begin by kneading freshly steamed glutinous rice. Then, using a real wooden mallet (kine) and stone mortar (usu), you pound the rice powerfully while shouting “Yoisho!” With every strike, make a wish. After pounding, you cut and shape the mochi yourself. Enjoy tasting 10 different flavors — kinako (roasted soybean powder), matcha, black sugar syrup, caramel nuts, grated radish, and more.
