Overview
Maison ZEYSSOLFF is one of the few wineries in Alsace with some century-old oak casks, each with a capacity of 10,000L, still in use for the vinification of its wines. Its greatest curiosity is the ZEYSSOLFF barrel, made in 1897 for the Paris Universal Exhibition (1900). This barrel is still in use today. The immersive experience, with projections on the barrels and sound work, is unique in France. Children are welcome on the tour, which is suitable for everyone. A piece of Alsatian gingerbread is gifted to you, and you'll leave with a bottle of home-made mulled wine! Most of our wines are organic certified.
What's included
- Kougelhopf (typical Alsatian brioche)
- Tasting of 5 Alsace wines from the Winery and a small bottle of mulled wine to take away.
- A piece of Alsatian gingerbread
Itinerary
Discover Maison Zeyssolff, a family estate founded in 1850 in Gertwiller, at the heart of the Alsace Wine Route. This experience plunges you into the world of Alsace wines through a commented tasting of our cuvées, from organic farming, followed by a video explaining winemaking, accessible to adults and children. Continue the visit in our historic cellar, where you will discover hundred-year-old oak casks still in use, as well as an exceptional arms barrel presented at the Universal Exhibition of 1900 in Paris. The highlight of the visit is our immersive 180°film, projected directly onto the barrels, a unique experience in France. This film is not a remake of what can be found to date where the work of the vineyard is told. But a film about our rather rich history, and about our work philosophy. The tour ends with a tasting accompanied by a share of kougelhopf. An experience rewarded by three national wine tourism trophies, including the 2022 Atout France National Wine Tourism Trophy. Each participant repairs with a bottle of 37.5cl mulled wine and gingerbread.
