Itinerary

  1. 1

    Ephesus Ancient City

    2 hours

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel or from your cruise ship. You will start your tour with a 60-minute drive to Ephesus with a visit to the most important buildings. Ephesus is an ancient city in Turkey’s Central Aegean region, near modern-day Selçuk. Its excavated remains reflect centuries of history, from classical Greece to the Roman Empire – when it was the Mediterranean’s main commercial center – to the spread of Christianity. Paved streets wind past squares, baths and monumental ruins. The Temple of Hadrian was built before 138 A.D. for Emperor Hadrian’s visit.

  2. 2

The House of the Virgin Mary

    1 hour

The second stop will be 6 km away – The House of Virgin Mary, one of the pilgrimage centers of Christians. The House of the Virgin Mary is a Catholic shrine located on Mt. Koressos in the vicinity of Ephesus, 7 kilometers from Selçuk in Turkey.

  3. 3

    The Temple of Artemis

    2 hours

The next is The Temple of Artemis which was one of the seven wonders of ancient times. The Temple of Artemis or Artemision, also known less precisely as the Temple of Diana, was a Greek temple dedicated to an ancient, local form of the goddess Artemis. It was located in Ephesus. You will have time to have some rest and eat your lunch in one of the local restaurants.

  4. 4

    Basilica of St. John

    1 hour

The last stop will be visiting St John’s Basilica. The Basilica of St. John was a basilica in Ephesus. It was constructed by Justinian I in the 6th century. It stands over the believed burial site of John the Apostle. It was modeled after the now lost Church of the Holy Apostles in Constantinop. You will be driven back at the end of the tour.
