Guided Sunrise Walking Tour of Assi and Dashashwamedh Ghat

Situated along the banks of the holy river Ganges, Varanasi - the city of ghats is considered to be the spiritual capital of India. Along the city's winding streets are some 2,000 temples, including Kashi Vishwanath, the “Golden Temple,” dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. This tour lets the guests witness the the different shades of the city. The tour starts by meeting the guide at Assi Ghat early in the morning.    Assi Ghat

   Assi Ghat is the southernmost Ghat in Varanasi, situated at the assemblage of Ganges and Assi rivers. This ghat is a sacred place as pilgrims offer prayers to a huge Shiva lingam placed under a peepal tree after bathing in the river. Walk through the various adjoining ghats while enjoying the sunrise.

   Dashashwamedh Ghat

   Dashashwamedh Ghat is the main ghat in Varanasi on the Ganga River. It is located close to Vishwanath Temple and is probably the most spectacular ghat.
