Itinerary

Crafting the "Kariroku": The Samurai’s Sacred Incense Amulet Discover the refined world of traditional Japanese talismans at Onishi Doll Shop, a venerable establishment founded in 1882. With over 140 years of history, this studio is renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship, even serving as the provider of ritual implements for the historic Atsuta Jingu Shrine. In this exclusive workshop, you will be guided by the store owner to create your very own "Kariroku"—a traditional scented bag used since ancient times to ward off evil spirits and misfortune. Once cherished by shoguns and high-ranking samurai as a powerful charm for victory and protection, the Kariroku is now a sophisticated decorative piece for New Year’s and other auspicious celebrations. By hand-crafting this amulet using authentic materials, you will experience the deep spiritual heritage and artistry that has defined Japanese culture for generations.
