Echizen Washi Calligraphy Experience

Experience traditional calligraphy in this beautiful building. Enjoy a delicious local meal for lunch. If you wish, we can frame your calligraphy work for an additional fee. In the afternoon, you can visit the traditional Otaki Shrine and pray for improvement in your handwriting.

We will teach you how to do thick calligraphy from scratch in an easy-to-understand manner at the traditional Shima Kaikan building, from how to grind the ink to how to use the brush. You will complete your work in a total of four hours, two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon. Lunch will be provided. In the afternoon, you will visit Otaki Shrine, which enshrines the god of paper, and enjoy workshops, museums, and washi paper shopping in Washi no Sato. We will pick you up and drop you off at the nearest hotel.
