Early-Evening Sake Tasting in Downtown Kyoto with a Sommelier

This is a small, sommelier-led tasting capped at just 6 guests. You'll taste 7 sakes chosen to show the full spectrum of what sake can be, guided by a certified sake sommelier who tailors the pace and explanations to the group. Held in an intimate, traditional Kyoto setting on early evenings.

Step into Kyoto's sake culture for an evening of guided discovery. Join us for an intimate sake tasting experience designed for curious travelers — no prior knowledge needed, just an open palate. Over 90 minutes, you'll work through seven carefully chosen expressions of Japanese sake, each representing a different style or brewing tradition. We move in a natural arc — from the clean, floral elegance of a Daiginjo to the rich depth of an aged Jukusei-shu — so you can feel how dramatically sake can vary. Along the way, you'll learn what actually makes sake different from what you've tasted before: the role of rice polishing, the difference between junmai and non-junmai, and why Kyoto's water and breweries produce something distinct. Groups are kept small — up to 6 guests — to make sure there's always room for questions. You'll leave knowing the names, the styles, and the stories behind what's in your glass — and with a clearer sense of where to look for good sake for the rest of your trip.
