   Dover Castle offers one of the best days out in the country. Commanding the gateway to the realm for over nine centuries, the fortress has been at the heart of some of the most significant events in England's history.

• The Operation Dynamo section of the Secret Wartime Tunnels is currently closed for essential maintenance. In the meantime, there's still plenty to see and do including the Underground Hospital, the Great Tower, siege exhibition and play area, medieval tunnels, and regular performances from reenactors.
