Overview

For those looking to experience a special coastal drive in Nagasaki, the deep blue sea and local cuisine will turn your journey into unforgettable memories. We’ll stop at the perfect viewpoint where the World Heritage Site Gunkanjima (Battleship Island) looks most like a majestic battleship for photos. Although Gunkanjima is now uninhabited, it once flourished as a coal-mining town and even held the record for the world’s highest population density. It is also famous as a filming location for the James Bond movie 007. From Mt. Gongen at the tip of the Nomo Peninsula, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of the ocean and the surrounding peninsula. This area was once home to a U.S. military base as well.
