Delhi’s red Fort was residence of Mughals for nearly 200 years. During the revolt of 1857, the last Mughal Emperor was trailed in this fort and then exiled to Yangon (Formerly known as Rangoon). The red sandstone work and the vastness of the entire place is bound to mesmerise you and awestruck you. The beautiful parts of red Fort are Rang Mahal (Color Palace), Diwane- E- Aam (Normal Audience Hall) and Diwane-e- Khas (Private audience Hall).Red Fort has been witness of not only Mughal Empire, but also of British Empire. On every Independence Day, the Prime Minister hoists a flag at the main gate and delivers a nationally broadcasted speech, since the independence of India was declared officially on 15th August 1947 here.
