Crescent Island Day Tour From Nairobi

Crescent island is a beautiful place hidden in the floor of the rift valley.  It is surrounded by the beautiful lake Naivasha, the home to hundreds of hippopotamus. After 1.5 hours drive from Nairobi, you are welcomed at the crescent island by friendly guides.

   Crescent Island Game Sanctuary

   This will be a wonderful day for you. Our driver will pick you early in the morning from your city hotel. After a brief introduction, you will drive for 1.5 hours to Crescent island with a stop at the Great Rift valley view point for photography. A speed boat is waiting for you for ferrying to the island. There are thousands of Birds to watch, animal grazing by the banks of the lake, and snoring heads of huge hippopotamus. The pilot is knowledgeable and acting as your guide in the lake. After 30 minutes of ride, you arrive at the island and welcomed by the friendly guides. They will guide you through the island and show you animals and vegetation. From the top of the hill there is a 360 degree view across the Lake from Longonot to Hell’s Gate to the Mau Escarpement to Eburu and onto the Aberdares. There are more animals per acre than any other Kenyan Park, hence many film companies have been to the Island to film the herds of Wildebeest, Waterbuck, Zebra and Gazelle. We are not fenced to allow the wildlife on the mainland to come in as they lose their habitat to development and the ever increasing population. Hippo graze all over us at night then sleep under the acacia or rest in the water by day. The giraffe who were born on the Island return to give birth; sometimes you see three generations at a time. Hyena come to hunt at night but are not resident on the island, the many python who do live here can be seen occasionally with a kill. Groups of Buffalo come and go but they are always monitored. You will enjoy your packed lunch in the park. After 4 hours in the island, the boat will come to pick you to the main land. You will set off for nairobi with a lot of memories.
