Once there, meet your guide and climb into a comfortable Jeep for a rambling tour of the island. Drive along the coast with the wind in your hair, see the Mayan ruin known as the "Seashell Tomb" and Colombia Lagoon, home of the yellow crocodile and more than 50 different bird species. Visit Punta Sur and see the original lighthouse known as “Faro de Celarain." Visit a white-sand beach and snorkel in the warm Caribbean water to get close-up views of the colorful reefs below the surface. Then, drive along the lesser-known east coast of Cozumel—what the locals call “the other side”—to a family-owned restaurant to enjoy a delicious lunch of Mexican chicken fajitas and a tour of the city to see how the locals live.
