When you arrive for your acupuncture session, you'll start with a consultation where your practitioner will ask about your health history and current symptoms. Then, you will lie down on a treatment table, and your practitioner will insert thin, sterile needles into specific points on your body. The needles typically remain in place for 20-30 minutes. Most patients feel little to no discomfort during the insertion. After the needles are removed, you may feel relaxed or energized.
