Overview

Be transported to the heart of the African bushveld on an unforgettable Sunset Big 5 Safari. Since the entrance ticket to the reserve is excluded from your tour package, the entrance fee must be paid directly at the reserve upon arrival. Experience up-close encounters with the Big 5 lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos on thrilling game drives through a private game reserve. Savor delectable bites and fine South African wines as the sun slowly sinks over the horizon, painting the landscape in golden hues. The best part of this tour is the 2-in-1 experience, combining a magical Cape Town city tour with an unforgettable safari adventure. Join knowledgeable safari guides to track wildlife big and small while learning about their behavior and daily lives. Take in majestic views of the reserve aboard open-air 4x4 vehicles — the ideal vantage point for viewing and photographing wildlife.

Itinerary

  1. 1

    Bo-kaap

    30 min

Bo-Kaap reflects the political processes in South Africa during the Apartheid years. The area was declared an exclusively residential area for Cape Muslims under the Group Areas Act of 1950 and people of other religions and ethnicity were forced to leave.

  2. 2

    Greenmarket Square

    30 min

Greenmarket square was established in 1696 by Dutch occupants. At the start of its lifetime, the square was used as a market where fruit and vegetables from the nearby Company gardens was sold. It also served as a market for slave owners to buy and sell slaves.

  3. 3

    Stop 3

    30 min

Grand Parade is the main public square in Cape Town. It was the site of the original fort built by Dutch colonialists in 1652. Today it is a gathering point for large events such as the historic speech by Nelson Mandela when he was released from prison in 1990. There is nothing new about globalisation except the name.

  4. 4

    Stop 4

    3 hours

On this sunset Big 5 private safari game drive tour, guests are welcomed with drinks and snacks. The safari usually begins with a 2–3 hour game drive, where you’ll explore the reserve with a knowledgeable guide who will help you spot the Big Five lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and Cape buffalo along with other wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, and various antelope species.

  5. 5

    Nederburg Wines

    1.5 hours

Nederburg Wine Estate is one of South Africa’s well-known wine estates, located in Paarl in the Cape Winelands. It is famous for its long winemaking history, vineyards, historic buildings, wine tastings, and award-winning wines
