Beekeeping and Honey Tasting Experience

Visit Margaridas Apiculture in Lagoa, São Miguel, for a practical introduction to the world of bees and beekeeping. After a brief explanation about bee biology and safety rules, you will put on protective equipment and visit the hives to observe the colony's organization, learn about the functions of each bee, and perhaps spot the queen. The experience, conducted in a group, is limited to 10 participants and ends with a tasting of different Azores honeys—all in an old pasture area that has been reforested with native honey-producing species.

The visitor will wear the skin DE a real beekeeper and be surprised by the bees in their busy daily life. We start with a briefing on the biology of the bees, the safety measures, and we continue to the discovery of the hives. At DAhow the hi is organized, what functions bees perform throughout their lives and who knows... You can even find the Queen! At the end, the Margarida bees give us a DE taste of honey. A small snack is served ON the visitors taste the different types of honey produced by our bees.
