Overview

A private day through Piedmont's greatest wine country, guided by a certified wine educator. We begin at 9:00 over coffee at our Turin wine studio, then drive into the UNESCO-listed Roero hills. You'll walk among the vines to understand the terroir, step inside the cellar to learn about local winemaking, then settle in for a 5-wine tasting, including a remarkable Barolo, paired with local cheeses, cured meats and focaccia. Then we head to the Langhe, wander Barolo village, and stop for another glass of Barolo, before heading to a winery in Barbaresco. There we have our final tasting of 4 wines, including Barbaresco Riserva. Back in Turin by ~17:30. Half day (9:00–14:30): Roero winery, vineyard walk, Barolo town, 6 wines. Full day (9:00–17:30): all of the above plus Barbaresco, 10 wines. Private experience for your group only. Your guide drives you from Turin and back. Food included. In English (Italian, Chinese, Russian on request). Select half or full day when booking.

Itinerary

This is far from an ordinary wine tour. It is a chance to spend the day with the warm and knowledgeable wine people of Piemonte, from winemakers and their families to sommeliers, and discover the hidden stories and best-kept secrets of the region. Guided by a DipWSET wine educator with 11 years of experience, the tour is both educational and approachable, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and pick up tasting tips. And yes, it is also going to be super fun and interactive! You will explore two carefully selected wineries in the Langhe and Roero, both part of a UNESCO World Heritage landscape, visit the town of Barolo, walk through the vineyards, and learn how wine is made from grape to glass.Along the way, you will gain local insights and behind-the-scenes stories, all shared in a relaxed and engaging style. You will taste at least 10 wines in total on your full day tour and 6 wines on a half day tour, including local classics such as Roero Arneis, Barbera d’Alba, and Barolo, accompanied by local cheeses, cured meats, and other regional specialties. A perfect experience for visitors who want to discover Piemonte through what it does best: wine.
