Arctic Explorer Icebreaker Cruise with Ice Floating

The Arctic Explorer pairs a 2.5-hour icebreaker cruise with a self-guided onboard E-Guidebook in 16 languages. When conditions are safe, the cruise stop includes walking on the frozen sea and floating in icy water in a thermal survival suit. Choose Own Transport or a round-trip shuttle from Rovaniemi, Kemi and Tornio, or Luleå.

   Board the Arctic Explorer at Axelsvik in Swedish Lapland for a 2.5-hour icebreaker cruise through frozen sea ice. Explore the ship at your own pace with an onboard E-Guidebook while the local crew takes care of safety and the onboard experience. During the cruise stop, step onto the frozen sea when conditions allow. You can also put on a thermal survival suit and float in the icy water. The crew makes the final decision on all ice activities based on ice thickness, sea conditions and safety. Warm up with a hot drink on board. At the end of the cruise, receive a Cruise & Swim Certificate signed by the Captain.

• Minimum height for ice floating is 125 cm.
• Bring a passport or national ID card. Wear warm clothing and winter boots.
• Ice walking and floating depend on ice thickness, sea conditions and the crew's safety decision.
• Cruise times at Axelsvik and pickups in Luleå use Swedish local time. Pickups in Rovaniemi, Kemi and Tornio use Finnish local time.
