4 Day Discover San Miguel Art Class

This 4 Day Mexican Art Class is an intensive class from 10am to 4pm Mon-Thurs. Students draw in the morning and paint in the afternoons. You can explore different mediums, like pen and ink, drawing, pastel, watercolor, and oils. All styles from realistic to abstract can be experimented with. Beginners and all levels are welcomed. Voted best art teacher in San Miguel, her art classes are one of the few in San Miguel that blends art with Mexican art and culture, structured under the spiritual philosophy of "nepantla", a 16th Century Nahua word that means "in the middle of things". Models and reference materials are indigenous to this region and students are given oral art and cultural history lectures, introduction to contemporary Mexican and Latin American modern music while working. Maestra Isis Rodriguez is a world renown and internationally recognized artist with a B.F.A in painting. She has been teaching for over 20 years and has lived in Mexico for 20 years.

Discover San Miguel Art Class is a bilingual class in english and spanish that explores Pre Hispanic beauty and aesthetics from a historical/cultural lens, Mexican and San Miguel traditions, architecture, and interesting curiosities. We will begin with a brief orientation and demonstration on how to draw or paint your idea. Students will choose their favorite topic, portrait, still life or landscape. Students will also choose painting and or drawing and their mediums: charcoals, pastels, watercolors , acrylic or oils. You will work in a beautiful glamour industrial fully stocked professional art studio with studio lighting, great ventilation with a master artist available to troubleshoot. At the end of class, students will enjoy an art work that they can take home and frame as a beautiful memory of their experience! This is a 4 day consecutive comprehensive art class from 10am to 4pm. Drawing in the morning and painting in the afternoon. All equipment, reference materials, photos, and art materials are included. Models are an additional cost of $25.00usd and one week in advance booking is needed to secure the model.
