In Amealco, many inhabitants have Otomi roots, which are reflected in the festivities, gastronomy and crafts. Its name comes from the Nahuatl Ameyalco or Amellayi, the “Place of springs.” Originated in 1538 by the Spanish, the municipal presidency building was originally a house, and the house of the parish priest can still be seen.

There they will take a tour to see La Peña de Bernal (from below), the main square, the town loom "La Aurora", the Temple of San Sebastián Mártir, as well as local crafts.
