Overview
After meeting your guide at about 8.00am you will be driven to a beautiful typical Northern Thai local market. The guide will do the shopping for the next couple of days and you will see some of the unique local specialties for sale there. About an hour from Chiang Mai you'll begin a mostly uphill trek following a great mountain trail along a stream to the camp. The natural surroundings besides the camp consists a lovely waterfall, so take advantage of a dip here in the cool water. After lunch trek further for your first visit to a Karen village. Have a chat with the locals about their daily lives. The route leading to the next Karen village is through some dense forest. Overnight will be at a simple homestay within the Karen village itself. After breakfast the next morning, the trek will be most downhill this time, passing rice-fields and more.
